Beach Lifeguard Training
Choose a rewarding career as a beach lifeguard by training for a National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NBLQ) at the National Lifeguard Training Centre, located right on the beach in Newquay, Cornwall.
The centre, which is operated by Cornwall College, has been at the forefront of lifeguarding and surf lifesaving education for the last ten years. Its beach lifeguard training courses are backed by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) and the qualification is an essential requirement for working as a lifeguard on beaches in Britain and is valid in many countries worldwide.
The NBLQ can be combined with a British Surf Association (BSA) surf instructor training course, which allows graduates to work as surf coaches on beaches in the UK.
As well as leading to jobs as beach lifeguards and surf instructors, the qualification can act as a stepping stone to other courses and careers in the emergency services. If you love the surf, extreme sports, beach holidays and the outdoor life, or even fancy yourself as a Baywatch hero, then a career as a beach lifeguard could be for you.
